WITHOUT The Help Of Caffeine…Or Abusing The Snooze Button!
Most of us can relate to this:
We struggle with getting up in the mornings, and sometimes resort to abusing the snooze button more than we should.
And when we finally do get up, we’re still in zombie mode…at least until our first (or second) cup of coffee.
While coffee is a great booster in the morning, there are many other healthier additions to your morning routine that will make you feel fresh, energized, and motivated to take the day head on.
That’s why if you want to know how to start your day right, here are 5 doctor-approved methods we have found that will help you wake up on the right side of the bed.
1. Rehydrate Your Body (⏰: 1 min)
You’ve probably heard that you lose ONE LITER of water every night.
While this might not be exactly true, your body does dehydrate significantly while you sleep…especially if it’s too hot or too cold.
Think morning breath and dry mouth.
So a good habit would be to leave a bottle of water by your bed side and drink it first thing you wake up. Plus, splashing some on your face wouldn’t hurt too.
2. Do Light Stretches (⏰: 5 mins)
During the hours while you are sleeping, your body is essentially paralyzed for hours on end. Blood circulation is decreased and lymphatic fluid accumulates in vessels, which contains metabolic waste products.
On top of that, endorphins are released when you stretch in the morning, which gives you a little boost and makes you feel happier and more positive for the day.
Start spending some time every to do some full body stretches!
3. Set Aside Personal Time (⏰: 30 mins)
Our hectic work schedules and families tend to leave us with little to no personal time for ourselves at all.
Many women find that decades just seem to fly by, and before you know it, your children are off to college, you’re old, and you don’t know where all that time went.
That’s why it’s very important to take time out just for yourself before the sun rises and while the whole world is still asleep. No interruptions.
Listen to music. Meditate. Read a chapter of a book. Or just do something you enjoy.
A little bit of personal time every day can keep you sane and re-energized for the rest of the day.
4. Take A Cold Shower (⏰: 5 mins)
Brrrrrr… This is a cold one. I know.
Cold showers may not be at the top of our “things that we enjoy” list in the mornings. But I’m sure you can see how it can give you that jolt of energy.
Cold showers increase alertness, refines hair and skin, strengthens immunity and blood circulation, and can even aid weight loss amongst other benefits!
Try it for a 3 to 4 weeks and see how it improves how you start the day!
5. Eat Breakfast (⏰: 20 mins)
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” is what people love to say. And we definitely agree with that. Having a delicious breakfast usually sets the tone for the entire day.
The question is, what should you have for breakfast?
Protein. Or eggs. Eggs are one of the best sources of protein, which will help you feel full, reduce hunger pangs, and lasts long enough until lunch time.
If you can’t take eggs for any reason, you can replace them with whey protein shakes or nuts. You don’t have to eat until you’re too full. 2 eggs with your morning drink should be enough to last you until the next meal.
Do this every day and you’ll definitely feel much better PLUS lose some extra weight!
But How Can Breakfast Help You Lose Weight?
Wouldn’t you agree that while you’re sleeping, you’re basically fasting for 6-8 hours straight.
When this happens, your body enters starvation mode after the first couple of hours (assuming your last meal is 2 hours before bedtime)
And when most people skip breakfast, they make it up by doubling down on other meals, taking in more calories than necessary.
That’s why mornings are the best time for your body to get all the nutrition it needs.
You can help your body by taking supplements that increase your metabolism and burn excess fat—and feel younger, healthier, and stronger at the same time, ready to conquer the rest of the day with a smile.
Thing is, a shockingly huge number people don’t balance out their daily nutrition. And this can have detrimental effects on the body in the long run.
